A Typical Concealed Carry Class Day

When you attend an

Idaho Concealed Carry Class

, there are certain state requirements that have to be met during class instruction. Like any class, there’s a mixture of lectures, practical demonstrations, interaction with the students, ensuring students comprehend the class lessons being taught, and allowing plenty of time to practice, ask questions, and review their class plan. The class is broken down into logical steps where students built upon class skills .

Firearms Safety Class

Our class begins with the most basic of firearm safety rules,
storage, and responsibility. Students learn the 3-most
fundamental rules of firearm safety followed by additional
rules which are designed to ensure an “accidental” discharge
never occurs, an “innocent” target is never struck, and the
responsibility a gun owner has to secure his weapons in a
safe or safety device that cannot be easily accessible by an
unauthorized person. Securing firearms from unauthorized
access is an extremely important class lesson which
prevents the needless tragedies we have witnessed in the

Understanding your Firearm

During class, an overview of basic pistol mechanisms and their operations are discussed. We compare a revolver to a semi-automatic pistol, explain each of their strengths and weaknesses, and then focus on the student’s personal firearm of choice. This is a very interactive time during class.

Building Shooting Skills

Students who are new to a firearm class, and even those
who have shot in the past, will learn several basic shooting
styles and positions. While attending class, students will
conduct “dry-fire” exercises (dry-fire means no live
ammunition). The class provides topics such as breath
control, hold control, trigger control and more. As we are
building up to “live-fire” at the range during class, students
are provided with information about the common shooting
errors that occur, how to correct them, and how to improve
their target acquisition. The class closes with a discussion
and demonstration of common pistol stoppages and how to
correct them when they occur.

Many of our students have never attended an Idaho Concealed Carry class. At Level 1 Firearms Safety
and Training, you will never experience the “military style class” mentality. While there is certainly
some students who learn better in these types of class environments, we believe our job is to engage
our students in class with thoughtful discussion, demonstrations, enactments, while encouraging class
drills and live-fire exercises that will improve skills.
We have both male and female instructors who conduct our Idaho Concealed Carry Class. Some
students have a preference to be taught by an instructor of the same sex while others prefer the
opposite; other students have no preference.
