Beginner AR-15 Rifle Class in Texas
Designed for the beginning AR-15 rifle shooter who has not received formal training in the safe, responsible, and proper handling of a semi-automatic or manual rifle.

AR-15: Basic AR-15 Rifle Training

This class is for students who have attended our Level 1 Basic AR-15 Rifle Training Class. This class builds on top of the basic skills taught during the introduction class. For safety purposes, the Basic AR-15 class must be attended prior to attending this class.

This class introduces the many options available to the AR-15 Rifle owner and prepares the student for advanced techniques taught in our advanced AR-15 rifle class.

AR-15 Intermediate Rifle Class for Personal Defense

.This class builds on top of basic and intermediate skills taught during the prerequisite classes. For safety purposes, the Basic AR-15 class as well as the Intermediate AR-15 class must be attended prior to attending this class.

This class introduces students to the judicial use of an AR-15 rifle for home defense. An overview of current Idaho laws are discussed and additional shooting techniques are introduced.

Houston Texas NRA Personal Protection in the Home Course
The NRA Training Counselor(s) who conduct your course will make a recommendation to the NRA concerning your certification, based on an evaluation of your knowledge, skill, and attitude. You will be asked to demonstrate your organizational and teaching skills through participation in several practical exercises.
During the NRA Instructor Training Course, you will receive from your Training Counselor the NRA Trainers Guide, the appropriate NRA Instructor Candidate Packet which includes the course outlines and lesson plans for the disciplines you wish to teach, the appropriate NRA basic course student packet which includes the handbook, certificates, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and other materials used in NRA basic courses.
Please remember NRA Instructor Courses are performance based courses, Instructor Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training. You do not pay and automatically pass Instructor training. You pay to have the opportunity to pass.
The Rifle Instructor Course teaches instructors how to teach the Basics of Rifle Shooting Course in the classroom and at the range. Topics include teaching students how to hold a rifle, rifle stances, trigger control, hold control, aiming, site picture and site alignment.
NRA Assistant Instructors are individuals 18 years of age or older who assist certified instructors to gain the knowledge and experience needed to become certified instructors. Assistant instructors must complete the same instructor level course. The Assistant Instructor ratings are available in six disciplines.

Students will learn discipline specific instructional methods for pistol, rifle, shotgun, and other personal protection teaching methods while evaluating and improving the performance of beginning shooters.
Knowing how to shoot is an important requirement for all instructors, but you also need to know how to teach others to shoot.
Instructor Training Courses help you develop the additional knowledge, skills and techniques needed to organize and teach firearm courses - our Flash Point Precision Training Course will help you develop these skills.
Since 1871, a major objective of the National Rifle Association has been to provide education and training in the safe and proper use of firearms.
The NRAs Basic Pistol Shooting Instructor Course is a 10 hour course that teaches instructor candidates how to teach the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooing in person in a classroom environment.
Level 1 Firearm Instructors must be at least 21 year of age and not be restricted from possessing a firearm. Participants will receive classroom instruction and practical shooting exercises using our unique Flash Point Precision Training methodology.
Houston NRA Home Firearm Safety Course
This program is not designed to prepare you to teach other firearm training courses (such as law enforcement, security, or hunter safety courses), nor to prepare you to develop firearm training courses of your own.
Texas NRA Instructor | LTC Instructor Courses
NRA Apprentice Instructors are young people 13 to 17 years old who wish to understudy a certified instructor. An NRA Certified Instructor will choose the apprentice instructor from select individuals. These individuals must possess the emotional maturity necessary to handle such a position.
The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is a two day course that covers most firearms and is one of the few NRA courses that require no shooting.
Texas NRA Courses | Level 1 Firearms Training LLC
All certified firearms instructors, as well as active-duty, veteran law enforcement and military personnel are eligible to apply to become Flash Point Precision Training instructors. Instructors will receive the training needed to help students build upon and improve their basic skills to effectively use their firearm and gain on target, well grouped shots each and every time.
Most instructor courses are discipline specific. During training students will learn about policies and procedures; improve public speaking skills; training methodologies; work in teams; learn about training aids; organize a course, prepare a budget; and learn how to instruct in a helpful and meaningful manner.
NRA Basic Instructor Training opens with an exercise on "How to Introduce a Speaker" designed as an icebreaker. You're paired with another Instructor Candidate, spend a few minutes in exchanging information, and introduce each other to the class. Immediately you start learning how to talk on your feet while we teach you how to offer useful praise and constructive suggestions.
This course teaches you the policies and procedures for becoming an NRA instructor as well as effective teaching methods for training students. Basic Instructor Training is a pre-requisite for all instructor level courses.
Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.
NRA Certified Instructors are essential to the proper education of a growing number of firearm owners. Instructors conduct the NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses and experience the joy of seeing others learn the knowledge, skills and attitude vital to safe and responsible firearm ownership.
This course will help you develop the additional knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to organize and teach firearms courses. Participants will learn to diagnose and correct student weaknesses, analyze and score targets, design and run courses of fire. Develop and implement comprehensive firearms training programs.
To attend an instructor class you must have also attended the student portion of the class they wish to become an instructor. The instructor candidate must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge before attending an instructor class. Instructor candidates must obtained a 90%+ on the student test and the instructor test
Instructors evaluate performance based on the students ability to handle firearms, use appropriate training aids, following lesson plans, understand learning objectives, set goals. and apply advanced training skills to develop good shooting habits.
You will also be asked to complete an instructor certification examination. A minimum score of 90 percent is required for certified instructor applicants (85 percent for assistant and apprentice instructor applicants). However, attendance at the course, or a passing grade on the examination, does not guarantee that you will receive the recommendation of the NRA Training Counselor.

Focus on the defensive mindset, discuss avoidance/deescalation strategies, understand the physiological changes that occur when under lethal force stress and affect they have on training, a series of skill development exercises help the student learn to efficiently and effectively use a carbine for self defense.
The course is to provide the student with a solid foundation in basic knowledge of handgun safety, various types of handguns, an understanding of ammunition and how it functions, shooting fundamentals and an introduction to defensive shooting skills.
The NRA Basic Instructor Training opens with an exercise on How to Introduce a Speaker designed as an icebreaker. Youre paired with another Instructor Candidate, spend a few minutes exchanging information, and then introduce each other to the class.
Instructor certification is valid for one year upon initial certification. After completion of the first year, instructors may renew their instructor credentials for up to three years at a time. NRA encourages instructors to remain active and would like to see at least one basic course taught per year.
The NRA Instructor Training Course is designed to teach you how to teach others to shoot using NRA lesson plans and training methods. You will need to demonstrate your firearms proficiency during the Pre-Course Assessment.
Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for firearm instructor certification. Students attending an instructor course will pass a qualification test, a written and oral test, and demonstrate safe firearm handling before they are admitted to the course.
State law requires you to already have a instructor certification to be qualified to take the Texas LTC instructor course.
