This is an introductory firearm safety and training course-not a marksmanship class! We recommend this class for those who are new to firearms. Extensive training and in-depth safety principles are stressed including rules for safe gun handling. The class offers instruction in all facets of rifle ownership including safe gun handling, rifle parts and components, operations, ammunition, range safety rules, shooting from the bench rest position, shooting stances, how to sight-in your scope and more.

Understanding, studying, and practicing Sight Picture and Sight Alignment.
Sighting your rifle for Accuracy and Confidence.
Choosing a Stance: Choose the correct shooting stance to increase your marksmanship skills.
Breathing and Taking a Shot: Practicing the fundamentals of taking your shot.
Trigger Control: Understanding and practicing the importance of Trigger Control before you shoot!

Part II: At the Range:
Applying firearm safety practicies and awareness.

Choosing your correct stance, exercising the stance, and proving this stance fits you best.

This class requires students to purchase or provide the following items which is equivalent to purchasing 200 rounds of ammunition. Students will continually use these training tools at home after the class has completed.

This class is focused on both the novice as well as the average rifle student. You learned the "basics" from previous classes, now you'll learn how to apply those skills to become a better shooter! The class is primarily divided into two (2) parts: Part 1: A complete, in-depth class focused on the basics of shooting, dry-fire, and sighting your rifle. Part Two (2): Entirely at the range applying the skills you have developed during Part 1 as well as the lessons learned during your basic rifle instruction. Together, you'll shoot more accurately, group better, and be prepared to show off to your friends and to enter competitions. If you're interested in shooting better; this is the class for you.

NRA Certified Instructors are essential to the proper education of a growing number of firearm owners. To be certified as an NRA Instructor, students must complete this 6-hour course that teaches material common to all NRA courses. This course does not certify the instructor candidate to teach any NRA courses. A complete NRA Instructor Training Course consists of two parts. The first is basic instructor training, which consists of 6 hours of instruction. Instructor certification is valid for one year upon initial certification. After completion of the first year, instructors may renew their instructor credentials for up to three years at a time. NRA Assistant Instructors are individuals 18 years of age or older who assist certified instructors to gain the knowledge and experience needed to become certified instructors. Assistant instructors must complete the same instructor level course. Courses are conducted in a skill building manner, beginning with basic instructor training. Students then go on to learn a specific discipline and how to present that as an instructor. The NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course aka NRA PPOTH Instructor Course teaches students how to safely carry a concealed weapon in public. Role-playing is an important part of instructor training, therefore, the minimum class size should be at least four students with additional students encouraged.
